Janus Guitar Duo is formed by Eastman graduates Tom Torrisi and Ken Luk, inspired by the Roman god Janus, who with two faces looks into the past and the future. Likewise, Janus Guitar Duo presents diverse programs featuring past and contemporary musical works.
In 2022, I wrote a set of twelve progressively complex pieces for mandolin and guitar duo called Imaginary Day. I had planned to come back at some point and record these pieces myself, but got preoccupied.
It turned out for the best though, because Tom and Ken just released a recording of all twelve pieces and they knocked it out of the ballpark!
I'm overjoyed to announce that you can download their recording of all twelve pieces on their bandcamp site now. It's been a while since I heard these pieces and I must say that their masterful interpretation of these fun and challenging pieces is worth checking out!
The sheet music for the collection is available at Sheetmusicplus.com. The pieces are progressive in complexity, so there’s something for everyone!
