While I feel like I’m still growing as a composer, I've started to feel more grounded; that I’ve discovered my purpose and am creating music that is true to who I am. Also, I'm getting sharper and swifter at producing new music.  With four new albums and several world premieres coming to fruition, it's turning into a very big year for me. And this is really big week in a really big year! I’ve just dropped two new albums!

I’m really proud of these two collections of new music which explore chamber jazz.  I've assembled a variety of small ensembles to take over twenty new pieces on their maiden voyage.  

I'd like to thank all my thirty-plus collaborators and also a special shout out to Steve Danyew for his valuable contribution to these projects.  As an accomplished composer and coach, Steve has helped me to fine-tune my writing process and elevate the quality of my work this year.

Wonderful Tiny Worlds is a collection of twelve diverse chamber jazz pieces that started out as a collection of seven miniatures which I wrote for mandolin and guitar duet in 2024. 

This year, I expanded and reimagined these pieces for a wide variety of chamber ensembles; a trombone trio, a saxophone quartet, a jazz fusion group, and other tantalizing ensembles.  Each track is truly a unique sound world waiting to be savored.

Lexiphanic means to use overly fancy words to sound smart. Is it working yet? 🤓 For this collection, I gathered a collection of pretentious, bombastic, and downright silly words as inspiration for new pieces. 

Each track is designed to evoke the title’s meaning; from the sublime to the ridiculous. Building on the diverse instrumentation in Wonderful Tiny Worlds, you’ll experience a jazz fusion group, an oompah band, and other sonic treats.  While listening, you might laugh, you might cry, you might dance. 

At any rate, you will definitely enjoy some nifty grooves from my sensational collaborators across four continents. This instrumental collection also includes a spiffy new French song, Charmoloypi, about a Greek word sung by a Portuguese singer in Barcelona, Spain.
