Brasiliense

A couple of summers ago I had the pleasure of collaborating with the exciting Brazilian guitarist Alvaro Henrique to create a new solo guitar piece, Da Poeira da Terra (Of Earth's Dust).  Our mutual goal was to create a classical solo guitar piece that incorporated some of the central Brazilian style, particularly the Pagode de Viola rhythm.

I'm grateful that Alvaro has enjoyed playing the piece in concerts for a year now and very happy that it's included in his new album Brasiliense, which drops on Spotify (and other platforms) on January 24, 2025.

You can listen here.  For extra points, please ‘pre-save’ and listen on release day, so that the almighty algorithm will be kind to us.

The album features guitar works by composers born in Brasília.  I'm the exception and in this instance, I'm very proud to have that asterisk beside my name!

Please share and enjoy!
